Sequence of Sleeping

So it seems as if the majority of my attention is taken up by how much Anika is sleeping - is she going to keep sleeping through the night? How many naps will she take? How long will the naps be? What time should I schedule my hair appointment so that she's up before I leave and can feed her? When should I take a walk with her so that it tires her out, but she doesn't necessarily pass out (because I'd rather her be in her crib for that...)? One of these days hopefully I'll settle down and just go with the flow rather than guessing what will happen next...I suppose that's a struggle for many - quit trying to figure things out and accept where you are and what is at hand.

Enough deep thoughts...enjoy the following sequence of photos I took the other day when Miss A and I took a walk. Recently I've been having her face out of the Moby most of the time and I generally have no idea what she's looking at or if she's asleep. When we do go for walks, I take the camera with me and take pictures of her along the way so I can see if her eyes are open or not. Here ya go:

What a cutie! I took her out and turned her around after this last shot...and she snoozed all the way back home.

It was a beautiful day and while we were out walking when we saw this guy:
Yup - Ben skiing along on the beautifully groomed XC ski trail in the National Forest! (okay we knew he was out there!)

And how did the trail come to be, you ask? Well - here are some videos of that little process - I couldn't decide which one to post, so I did them both. The first one shows the view off of the front deck (although its a little overcast today) and the second one has a better view of the implements...

The above video is titled "Groom with a View" :-)

I don't have a cutsie title for this one...maybe Ben will come up with one and I'll edit this post later!

Ben is on the snowmobile with the grooming equipment hooked up to it coming down the road.

The satisfied artiste of XC trails!

2-Headed Winter Vanna :-)

Now I am off to take my own nap - Anika is down and Ben is outside with the dogs enjoying the fruits of his labor!

Movement in the Night

I promise that we put Anika to bed normally...really, we do!  When Ben and I left her room last night she was lying in the middle of her crib, with her hat on, tightly swaddled with the "super swaddle" technique, the blanket tucked over her feet, lying lenghwise.

At 6:30 this morning I awoke to the Anika Paging System (APS) and this is what I saw when I went into her room:

She looked slightly confused and I was baffled...I guess its time for the sleep sack!

By the way, I was starting to kind-of worry that the APS was broken since Miss A. has been sleeping from about 9:30 pm until sometime between 7am and 9am...I found out this morning that it wasn't broken.  Most likely a growth spurt!  Not that 9:30 pm to 6:30 am is anything to be upset about!
