6 Month Stats

Eek!  Where did the time go?  I realized today that Anika will be 7 months old on Thursday...and then I remembered that I haven't done her 6 month post yet. I guess this little one has been keeping me busy!  She's been on solids for a while now and is working on drinking water out of her sippy cup.  It has a bite-valve and I actually think she likes chomping down on it when her teeth are acting up (or lack thereof...no actual teeth yet, but she certainly has symptoms of them coming in).

So, without further ado: Anika turned 6 months old on April 20th, 2010 and had her check up on May 3rd...and for those who have been waiting with baited breath...heeeeeerrrre's Anika('s 6 month info)!

Weight: 15 lbs. 5 oz.
Height: 24.5 inches

I know she looks thrilled...she's actually just resting after going nuts trying to catch the jackalopes attached to her feet...maybe she'll be able to launch her *surprise attack* next!

We went out for a walk to see if Peli and Biz could catch those dang jackalopes!

Here are some shots of Anika playing and doing her latest "tricks":

Don't you just love the determination on Miss A's face?
She's gonna get that floating blue frog one of these days!!!

She doesn't have to hitch her wagon to a star...Anika just eats the sun!

Playing with blocks in the Bumbo.

Even sitting up!!!
Whoops...looks like it's really a game of "where's the baby?"
...otherwise known as baby tipping over while mommy tried to capture the special moment for posterity...

Back to using the boppy pillow for the time being :-)

Now...to bed for me!!!

Food Glorious Food!

While Briana and Genevieve were visiting, Ben and I decided to "spice things up" and introduce Miss A. to the wonderful world of solid(ish) food. On March 29, 2010, Anika had her first taste of rice cereal. She has since graduated to oatmeal, bananas, peas, sweet potatoes, and today, applesauce! She takes great pleasure in racing the spoon to her mouth and gooshing her food between her fingers as well as giving herself facials everyday (oatmeal and rice are good for the skin, you know!).

First reactions to rice cereal...interesting...

and then she just took her spoon!

Flapping her wings in anticipation!

We kept up this new "eating thing" back in Littleton with the Wimsatts...

Running from the spoon - just too much going on!

Uncle Billy feeding Anika.

I just can't seem to stop taking pictures of this kiddo! Here we are back at home:

More peas, please!

Anika's FAVORITE thing of all is her "Baby Kong"...it's actually a Sassy Teething Feeder (you can find it on http://www.babiesrus.com/ if you're interested). We put a piece of banana in and check out what happens:

Anika isn't the hugest fan of getting cleaned up, but she does like playing with the washcloth:

Its just a matter of time before she starts asking for lasagna and popcorn! She does need those teeth to come in for the popcorn, though!
